We are Richard and Maggie and have over the years spent many happy holidays with our daughters in various regions of France. Five years ago with retirement looming we bought a house in France. Bagnères de Bigorre, with its mild climate, lively atmosphere and charm seemed perfect. We love the endless opportunities for walking in the mountains, skiing in the winter and exploring this lovely part of the world. We feel fortunate and happy to support African Initiatives, a small charity located in Bristol that started 12 years ago. It has been doing vital work supporting communities in Ghana and Tanzania find their own long term solutions to the problems they face. As well as providing advice, training and resources, African Initiatives are there to help these communities make their voices heard, to stand up against corruption and lift themselves out of poverty.
